Mō te Tūranga | About the Role

We’re looking for a strategic and driven Senior Business Development Manager – Corporate to lead the growth of key broker portfolios. This role is central to identifying and developing profitable business opportunities, building strong broker relationships, and delivering on growth and retention targets. You’ll analyse broker performance, develop tailored business plans, and oversee underwriting to ensure consistent, high-quality service. With delegated underwriting authority, you’ll work closely with our underwriting team to support brokers and drive results. Beyond portfolio management, you’ll contribute to strategic planning, monitor market trends, and identify risks and opportunities that shape our broker strategy. You’ll also support initiatives that enhance our community presence and align with our sustainability goals.

This is a full-time permanent opportunity with hybrid working conditions and is open to our IAG office in Tāmaki Makaurau (Auckland).

Ōu Pūkenga | About You

To be successful in this role, you’ll ideally meet the below criteria :

  • Proven experience in commercial insurance, ideally within corporate portfolios, with strong exposure to underwriting and broker engagement.
  • Demonstrated success in strategic account management and sales distribution within the New Zealand general insurance market.
  • Strong relationship management skills at a senior level, particularly within the insurance broker channel.
  • A track record of identifying and developing profitable business opportunities, supported by sound market and portfolio analysis.
  • Excellent communication, strategic thinking, and interpersonal skills, with a proactive, results-driven mindset and commitment to continuous development.
