Huntley School is a co‑educational, independent preparatory school set on eleven hectares in rural Marton just 30 minutes from Whanganui and 40 minutes from Palmerston North. Huntley is New Zealand’s oldest and largest preparatory boarding and day school. We’re looking for someone who :

  • Is a registered (or eligible) NZ teacher with primary, intermediate, or secondary experience
  • Demonstrates warmth, flexibility, and enthusiasm in their approach to teaching.
  • Establishes and maintains strong, positive relationships with students and colleagues.
  • Possesses a sound foundation in literacy and numeracy
  • Offers additional strengths in sport, music, or cultural pursuits.
  • Appreciates and embraces the unique opportunities associated with working in a boarding preparatory school environment.
  • The successful applicant will also contribute to the broader life of the school, including co‑curricular and pastoral activities, fostering meaningful engagement with students both within and beyond the classroom.
