Maths teacher (Y8-13) – Wa Ora Montessori WellingtonFull time, PermanentSecondary (Years 7–15) / wharekura, Certificated teacherMathematics and statisticsWa Ora Montessori School is an Area School based in Lower Hutt, Wellington, catering for approximately 300 children and is the only Montessori School in New Zealand that nurtures the child from 0 to 18 years.

We are a community based school with close connections to our whanau (families).

We are seeking a maths teacher to teach in an innovative, integrated and adaptive programme that responds to the needs of this age group and you will be excited by the opportunity to develop strong relationships with highly engaged rangatahi (young adults) in Y8–13 (12–18 year olds).

The position is for a start date beginning of term 1, end of January 2026.Requirements for this position include : Current New Zealand teacher registrationThe legal right to work in New ZealandExtensive subject knowledge of the New Zealand Maths curriculumPrior experience teaching at a High School levelExperience teaching NCEA to Level 3 is also desirableA willingness and ability to take part in special instruction appropriate to the Special Character of the school is a condition of appointment.

If successful, Montessori training will be required and sponsored by the school in return for a bond (approx 2 years).
