Job description

Role Overview

As a Senior Product Manager – Business Intelligence at Federato, you will own the vision, strategy, and execution of a portfolio of data products that enable our users to unlock insights and drive action.

You’ll join a highly collaborative, cross-functional team of experts spanning product, engineering, data science, and insurance. In this role, you’ll work closely with Federato’s Data team to deliver high-impact solutions that empower users to access, interpret, and apply their data within the Federato platform to meet their unique business needs.

You will play a pivotal role in developing new data visualization and reporting experiences that harness the power of cutting-edge technologies and leading LLMs. Success in this role requires a product leader who deeply understands how users interact with data, can translate complex analytical needs into intuitive product experiences, is passionate about AI, and excels at aligning stakeholders across data, engineering, and business teams to deliver customer value through delightful products.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Communicate the value of Federato’s data product portfolio to internal and external stakeholders, supporting product adoption and growth through strong partnerships with sales, marketing, and customer success.
  • Develop a deep understanding of how insurers use data in operational and strategic workflows. Conduct market and user research to uncover unmet analytical needs and shape product direction based on real-world data usage patterns.
  • Collaborate with customers, user research, design, and other internal stakeholders to identify key reporting and visualization requirements to build scalable BI product experiences that deliver actionable insights.
  • Work closely with data engineers and architects to ensure the integrity, usability, and scalability of the underlying data infrastructure powering BI products. Guide the design of metrics, data models, and self-service tools.
  • Leverage leading AI technologies, including LLMs, to enhance data reporting capabilities and surface deeper, more predictive insights.
  • Design intuitive, customer-facing analytics experiences that empower users to explore, interpret, and act on their data with confidence.

Who We Hope You Are

  • A degree in a STEM field such as Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Information Systems, or a related discipline; an MBA or experience in insurance or financial services is a strong plus.
  • 5+ years of product management experience, including at least 3 years focused on building and launching business intelligence, reporting, or analytics products—ideally in a B2B SaaS environment.
  • Proven ability to define and deliver data product strategies that unlock insights and drive customer outcomes, with a strong understanding of data pipelines, visualization tools, and embedded analytics.
  • Experience working closely with data engineers, analysts, and data scientists to shape data models, define metrics, and build products that serve both technical and non-technical users.
  • Demonstrated success leading 0→1 product initiatives, developing strategic roadmaps, and driving cross-functional execution in fast-paced, high-growth environments.
  • Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills; comfortable using SQL, dashboards, or experimentation to uncover insights and inform decisions.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to align business, technical, and design teams around a shared product vision.
  • Ability to travel to East Coast roughly 20% of the time or based on product spike timing.

$175,000 - $200,000 a year. Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors including candidate location, experience and expertise and may vary from the amounts listed above. Total compensation package does include stock options, bonus, benefits and additional perks.

Here at Federato, your capabilities are important, but culture fit is quintessential. We move fast, are eager to listen to our users, take a first principles approach to solving problems, and value learning and the ability to change our minds. Most importantly, we\'re here to have fun. Our ability to make a difference starts with our people. We would love to work with you!
