The Role

We're looking for a Senior Front-End Engineer to join our collaborative team and help shape the user experience of a global eCommerce platform.

This is a 24-month fixed-term contract offering the chance to work on modern, high-impact projects in a supportive environment.

In this role, you'll partner with product, design, and engineering teams to create intuitive, high-performance web interfaces using Svelte (as well as React and Angular where needed).

You'll help define front-end standards, mentor fellow engineers, and contribute to architecture decisions — all within a modern, cloud-native environment.

What You'll Do

Lead & Mentor

Shape front-end engineering best practices and UI design patterns

Mentor and support teammates across Svelte, React, and Angular projects

Contribute to architectural decisions for scalable, user-friendly solutions

Build and maintain component libraries and reusable UI modules

Build & Innovate

Design and develop accessible, responsive, and performant UIs using Svelte

Write modular, maintainable, and testable code

Collaborate with back-end teams to integrate APIs and services

Champion secure coding and performance optimisation

Practice & Evolve

Apply modern development techniques : test-driven development, CI / CD, and domain-driven design

Leverage AI-assisted tools (GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT, Cursor AI) in day-to-day work

Participate in design reviews, usability testing, and peer code reviews

Help define front-end testing strategies (unit, integration, E2E)

Collaborate & Deliver

Work closely with product managers, UX / UI designers, and engineering peers

Advocate for a user-first approach in all development

Take ownership of features from design to delivery

Promote accessibility, performance, and maintainability in all aspects of UI development

What We're Looking For

Must-Have

5+ years of professional front-end development experience

Solid expertise with React, Vue, or Angular frameworks

Strong JavaScript / TypeScript, HTML5, CSS3 skills

Experience with REST APIs and cloud environments (Azure, AWS, or similar)

Familiarity with modern build systems, testing tools, and version control (Git)

Nice-to-Have

Production experience with Svelte is a plus (but not essential — we'll help you learn!)

Experience working with design systems or component libraries

Knowledge of GraphQL or headless CMS platforms

Understanding of accessibility standards and performance tuning

Experience with containerisation (Docker, Kubernetes)
