Overview
This is a Wellington-based permanent position for a graduate entry Analyst / Administrator to support the work of the Remuneration Authority | Te Mana Utu Matua (the Authority).
The Authority determines fair and transparent remuneration for key public sector positions.
Responsibilities
Support the Authority by undertaking research and analysis activities along with administrative and secretarial duties.
Contribute to a small, busy unit in a high tempo environment and be resilient, an enthusiastic self-starter with good communication, judgement and confidence.
Skills and Experience
Bachelor's degree in human resources, statistics or quantitative social sciences, law, public policy / administration or business
A passion for learning and a positive and pro-active approach to work
Some experience in a customer service environment would be an advantage
Ability to give advice and information within a statutory framework and in a clear, concise and impartial manner
Ability to learn, understand and communicate technical information quickly
Excellent word and Excel skills, and a good understanding of the internet and digital environment
Must have the legal right to live and work in New Zealand

You will be employed by Ministry of Business, Innovation & Employment (MBIE) and permanently seconded to the Authority.
Authority and Context
The Remuneration Authority Act 1977 establishes the Authority, an independent statutory body that determines remuneration for a range of senior public office holders and related parties.
These office holders include the Governor-General, Members of Parliament, judicial officers, elected local authority officials and other statutory officers.
In carrying out its duties the Authority balances statutory criteria including fair relativity, fairness to individuals and taxpayers, recruitment and retention, consideration of position requirements, and prevailing economic conditions.
