This is an exciting opportunity to join the Southern Dialysis Service in a newly developed CNS role working as part of a team of three Dialysis CNS's across Dunedin and Invercargill. You'll provide advanced clinical care for people living with kidney disease across home, community, outpatient and hospital settings, supporting patients and whānau through different stages of their dialysis journey. No two days will necessarily look the same. You might be reviewing someone at home, running a CNS-led clinic, supporting a change in dialysis therapy, providing specialist advice or working alongside inpatient and multidisciplinary teams when a dialysis patient becomes acutely unwell. And because this is a new role and model of care you won't just step into an established way of working. You'll have the opportunity to help shape what advanced dialysis nursing looks like across Southern About the Role Providing advanced assessment, clinical decision-making and specialist dialysis care. Supporting home haemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis through clinics, home visits, training and ongoing review. Providing specialist input for complex and acutely unwell dialysis patients. Coordinating care across home, community and hospital settings. Providing specialist advice, education and coaching to patients, whānau and staff. Leading and contributing to quality improvement, evidence-based practice and new models of care. Championing equitable, culturally safe and patient-centred care. Salary Range This role is covered by the terms and conditions of the NZNO CEA and the salary will be in accordance with the DSN Pay Scale Grade 2, between $118,941 and $130,866 p.a dependant on relevant experience.
