Join Te Whatu Ora at a key time of change where you will meaningfully contribute to our kaupapa of creating a more equitable, accessible, cohesive and people-centred health system. Te whiwhinga mahi | The Opportunity
Our Business Services team is here to make sure that Data and Digital thrive like a well-oiled machine. We're the ones who help set the course, gather resources, and make sure things run smoothly - think of us as the ultimate planners and communicators, making sure everyone is on the same page!
We're like the superhero support squad for Data and Digital. From keeping everyone in the loop through top-notch communication (we're buddies with the Communication and Engagement team) to making sure the right people are in the right places (our friends in People and Culture are our partners here), we've got it all covered.
We've got a handle on best practices, training, and making sure everyone's got the right skills. Plus, we're the guardians of risk management and privacy – keeping things safe and sound in the world of Data and Digital is our specialty.
Mōu | About you
As our D&D Policy Lead, your role will revolve around overseeing Data & Digital policies, serving as the main link for reviewing organisation-wide policies. You'll have the chance to create and implement Data & Digital policies and procedures, ensuring they align with legal requirements. Working closely with our team, you'll identify policy needs, produce documents like white papers and briefs, and help improve policy submissions.
You will also play a role in guiding and refining policy presentations, raising the bar for Data & Digital policies and enhancing decision-making. Join in shaping communication strategies, stay updated on policy shifts, and analyse their effects. As an expert, you'll advise senior management on policy issues and foster relationships with external stakeholders.
You will stay ahead of the curve by staying informed about policy trends and best practices. Your expertise will be crucial in audits and maintaining our commitments to equity and the Treaty of Waitangi. You will be a representative for Data & Digital in policy-related meetings, both within Te Whatu Ora and across the broader health sector, and your insights will guide senior management on policy impacts, ensuring a positive influence on Data & Digital.
Preference will be given to applications of significantly affected Kaimahi through the change process.

Tō mātou whakahaere ki te tika, te rerekētanga, me te whai wāhi mai |Our commitment to equity, diversity and inclusion
Our name, Te Whatu Ora, means ‘the weaving of wellness'. Whatu is the combining together of people, resources, organisations, thoughts and actions for the betterment and wellbeing of all. Whatu is also a direct reference to the pupil of the eye, and the vision required of the new entity and system.
At Te Whatu Ora we acknowledge and respect our people's diversity and spiritual needs, ensuring a safe workplace that is a whānau orientated and supportive environment. We are working towards a system that better meets the complex demands of a growing population, addresses the persistent inequalities experienced by Māori and ensures greater access, experience and outcomes for those traditionally not well served by the system – Māori, Pacific and Disabled People.
