The Role

Based at our Christchurch site, you will maintain a large ammonia refrigeration plant and ensure operations align with Wattie’s Food Safety, Environmental, Health and Safety, and Ethical policies, programs, and goals.

Your Responsibilities

• Ensure engine room refrigeration operates efficiently
• Perform maintenance safely and promptly
• Supervise staff and contractors in the ammonia plant room as needed
• Safely evacuate plant / pipe work for maintenance
• Assist electrical staff and be on call 24 / 7 when required
• Conduct weekly safety alarm testing
• Maintain SOPs & TRAs for training purposes
• Check and top up compressor oil levels
• Support shift fitters with setup and operation
• Perform daily defrosting to maintain temperature standards
• Assist Production and Engineering teams as needed
• Complete any other tasks as required
