Saigon Delights Limited, established in April 2023, operates a Vietnamese restaurant under the trading name Saigon Delights Restaurant, located in 81 Victoria Street, Te Aro, Wellington. The restaurant features a vibrant Vietnamese-inspired menu and offers all-day dining to delight guests' palates. To support our growing operations and address ongoing staff shortages, we are seeking a talented chef to join our dynamic and fast-paced kitchen team.

About the Role
\n
The ideal candidates will have a strong knowledge of Vietnamese cuisine and practical experience in its preparation. They should be proficient in working on the hotline and be flexible with scheduling, including early mornings, weekends, and public holidays. Successful candidates will also be highly motivated, thrive in a fast-paced kitchen setting, and share a passion for craving Kiwi favourites.

Key Responsibilities
\n
· Prepare, cook, and present dishes according to the recipes and standards of Kitchen
\n
· Handle high-quality ingredients with the best culinary knowledge in preparation and cooking
\n
· Engaging in the creation and development of new dishes and menus.
\n
· Coordinate with other Chef to ensure timely preparation and delivery of dishes.
\n
· Managing and training any kitchen assistant working with you
\n
· Ensure smooth and efficient operation of the section during service times.
\n
· Maintain clear communication to ensure a smooth workflow, a positive work environment, and effective solutions to any issues or challenges.
\n
· Quality and Hygiene Control
\n
· Inventory and Ordering
\n
· Keep your work areas, equipment, and the kitchen consistently organized, sanitized, and spotless.
\n
· Uphold the best endeavour during your work hour
\n
· Monitoring portion and waste control to maintain profit margins
\n
Requirements and skills:
\n
· A minimum of 2 years of cooking experience in a fast-paced environment OR
\n
· A relevant Level 4 or higher qualification in Culinary Arts or Cookery
\n
Other skill required:
\n
· Having prior work experience in cooking Vietnamese cuisine would be an advantage
\n
· Be able to work confidently and independently
\n
· Good cooperation and communication within the team environment
\n
· The ability to perform under extreme pressure.
\n
· Knowledge of prevailing regulations on
\n
· Hygiene Available to work rostered shifts, particularly during weekends, and public holidays as needed
\n
