We specialise in drain unblocking, CCTV pipe inspections, hydro excavation, vacuum services, stormwater services, spill and flood response, wastewater and sewer services, water blasting, and pond cleaning & desludging. We operate 24/7 for emergency call outs and maintain a strong health & safety culture.

About the Role
\n We are seeking up to 5 experienced Hydro Excavation (Hydrovac) Operators to deliver safe, precise, non destructive excavation and drainage works. The role combines operating hydro excavation trucks and plant with site leadership, paperwork/records, and routine maintenance. Work may include utility locating/exposure, trenching, pit cleaning, dewatering and bypass pumping, and emergency response.

Key Responsibilities

\n

\n
• Responsible for the successful completion of hydro excavation projects including utility line exposure, debris removal, slot trenching, and digging.
\n
• Operate Hydrovac trucks and equipment in a safe and professional manner.
\n
• Supervise activities of Hydrovac Laborers in order to ensure employee skill development.
\n
• Set up and inspect grounding and/or bonding procedures for Hydrovac operation.
\n
• Complete all required paperwork properly and within set timelines.
\n
• Perform pre and post-trip inspections, as well as routine maintenance
\n
• Take photos and or videos as required.
\n
• Visit sites & assess issue with the sewer or stormwater drain.
\n
• Determine equipment & tools required in clearing blockages in drains & pipes.
\n
• Read and understand plans, levels & grades.
\n
• Set-up and operate dewatering systems and bypass pumps.
\n

Minimum Skills, Experience and Qualifications

\n

\n
• NZ Class 4 driver licence (or overseas equivalent).
\n
• At least 3 years’ work experience as excavation operator ( or New Zealand Certificate in Civil or Infrastructure Works Level 4 or equivalent).
\n
• Good physical fitness and willingness to work outdoors in all conditions.
\n
• A commitment to health and safety; able to follow SOPs, permits and client requirements.
\n
• Desirable (nice to have): Confined Space, WTR endorsement, STMS/TC, First Aid, vacuum
  \n loading/jetting experience, utility locating.
\n

• Employment Type: Full-time, permanent
\n
• Guaranteed Hours: Minimum 40 hours per week
\n
• Pay Hourly rate: NZD $25 – $34 per hour (based on skills and experience)
\n
• Work Location: Our Office is based at East Tāmaki, Auckland with work across Greater Auckland.
\n
