Job Description
Customer Services — Sales Support | Pultron Composites | Gisborne, NZ | Full-time, on-site We design and manufacture advanced composite materials that end up in sea walls, bridges, marinas, mines and infrastructure projects all over the world - composites are one of a wide range of materials we work with, across a wide range of industries. We export around 90% of what we make out of New Zealand, so most of our customers reach us by email, with a fair bit of phone contact too - it's a very different kind of customer service to someone walking in off the street, and that's exactly why it's interesting. This is a genuinely good first job. Not a photocopier-and-coffee first job - a real one, where you're on email and phone with customers across time zones, helping sales reps get quotes and orders out the door, and learning how a global manufacturing business actually runs from the inside. If you're a recent grad - marketing, communications, business, or you just write well and think on your feet - this is a legitimate place to launch a career. If you're not a grad but you've got a sharp inbox, a good head for numbers, and the drive to keep ten things moving at once, you'll fit right in too. We care as much about who you are as what's on your CV. Why Gisborne? Because it's real life at a real pace - beaches five minutes from your desk, a cost of living that doesn't eat your paycheque, and a company where your work is genuinely visible. And don't let the small town fool you: we're a growing global business, with plants and interests in Saudi Arabia and the USA, and now expanding into Australia too. You'll be part of something with real reach, without getting lost in it. What You'll Actually Do Be the front line for our customers around the world - mostly by email, answering questions, chasing quotes, and making people feel looked after. Support our sales reps with quotes, order processing, and the paperwork that keeps deals moving. Support to keep our CRM honest and up to date - the single source of truth for every customer relationship. Coordinate with production and logistics so promises made to customers are promises we keep. Use AI tools as part of the job, not a buzzword - drafting and tightening customer emails, triaging a busy inbox, spotting patterns in what customers are asking for. If you're curious about how AI can make your work sharper and faster, we want that energy. Spot the small stuff that's broken in how we do customer service, and put your hand up to fix it. What We're Looking For A true team player - this one's non-negotiable. We're a One Team environment and we need people who genuinely want to be part of that. Quick on your feet - also non-negotiable. Things change fast here and we need people who adapt without missing a beat. A bit of a maths brain - comfortable with numbers, quick with quotes and formulas, and not fazed by a spreadsheet. Strong organisational instincts - comfortable juggling multiple customers, deadlines, and moving parts without dropping the ball. Comfortable on the phone, and unfazed by a tricky conversation. Excellent written English - you'll live in your inbox, and clarity and warmth in writing matters more here than almost anything else. AI can help you polish a message, but it can't do your thinking for you. Curious about AI as a tool for working smarter - you don't need to be an expert, you need to be willing to try. Prior exposure to manufacturing, B2B, CRM systems, or customer service is a bonus - not a requirement. We'll teach you the rest. How We Work Trust, One Team, and Innovation aren't posters on our wall - they're how decisions actually get made here. We hold people to a high standard because we respect them enough to expect great work, and we back that up with a team that has your back. Bring honesty, bring curiosity, be willing to learn, and you'll go a long way with us. #J-18808-Ljbffr
