About the role We are looking for a qualified and experienced Chief Marine Engineer on board the Amaltal Columbia. As a Chief Marine Engineer, you will be responsible for: Lead and manage the engineering department, ensuring effective supervision, development, and performance Ensure the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of all vessel machinery and engineering systems Oversee planned maintenance, repairs, surveys, and major engineering projects to maintain vessel readiness and compliance Ensure compliance with all health and safety and maritime regulatory requirements Manage engineering resources, fuel efficiency and spare parts For this role, you’ll need: MarineEngineer Class 4 Certificate of Competency (MEC4) Previousexperience as an engineer onboard a fishing vessel Communication, leadership and management skills Highly motivated and results-driven Marine Engineer With Talley’s, you get: Competitive rate Excellent working conditions Jobsecurity and stability About Talley’s Talley’s is proudly New Zealand owned and operated, bringing the best New Zealand seafood and mussel products locally and to the world.
