About the Role Our client is looking for a highly skilled and conscientious Healthcare Cleaner to ensure the highest standards of sanitation and infection control at their facility in Queenstown . This critical role involves meticulous cleaning and disinfection of various healthcare environments, including patient rooms, surgical areas, and public spaces. You will work closely with healthcare staff to maintain a safe, hygienic, and welcoming atmosphere for patients and visitors. The ideal candidate possesses specialized knowledge of healthcare cleaning protocols and a commitment to public health. Key Responsibilities Perform comprehensive cleaning and disinfection of patient rooms, wards, and treatment areas. Clean and sanitize operating rooms, sterile processing areas, and other critical zones according to strict protocols. Manage the disposal of hazardous and non-hazardous waste streams in compliance with healthcare regulations. Operate and maintain specialized cleaning equipment, including high-efficiency vacuums and steam cleaners. Respond promptly and effectively to biohazard incidents and emergency cleaning needs. Maintain accurate logs of cleaning activities, supplies used, and any identified issues. Requirements Proven experience as a healthcare cleaner or in a similar specialized cleaning role within a medical facility. In-depth knowledge of infection control procedures, chemical disinfection, and waste management in healthcare settings. Familiarity with relevant health and safety regulations (e.g., SANS standards). Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a sensitive environment. Strong attention to detail and a meticulous approach to cleaning tasks.
