About the Role Rydges Rotorua sits on the edge of the Redwood Forest, overlooking the Whakarewarewa Thermal Valley, and is home to Chapman's Restaurant & Bar as well as a busy conference and events offering. As a Food and Beverage Attendant, you'll play a crucial role in ensuring our guests receive top-notch service and have a memorable experience. You'll be responsible for taking orders, serving food and beverages, and maintaining a welcoming atmosphere whether it's at the bar, in the restaurant, room service, or across conferencing and events. Key Responsibilities Warmly welcome guests, assist with seating arrangements and provide menus. Knowledgeably describe menu items, answer questions and take orders accurately, noting any special requests or dietary restrictions. Deliver food and drinks promptly, ensuring they are presented to standard. Check in regularly with diners to ensure they have everything they need, addressing any concerns. Keep the area clean and well-organised, including clearing tables, resetting and restocking. Communicate orders to the kitchen team, ensuring food is prepared correctly and delivered promptly. Present bills and process payments accurately. Suggest additional menu items, specials or beverages to enhance the guest experience. Follow safety and hygiene protocols, including proper handling of food and beverages and health and safety regulations. What You'll Bring Previous experience in a similar food and beverage or hospitality role. A proven knowledge of food and beverage items, including wine and cocktails (training will be provided). The ability to stand for extended periods and lift heavy items. Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including evenings, weekends and holidays.
