About the Role As a Lead Administrator, you will provide high-level administrative coordination for the Retinal Diabetes Eye Screening Service across Northland. You will play a key role in ensuring patients move seamlessly through the screening pathway by managing referrals, bookings, waitlists, clinic schedules, recalls, reporting and patient communications. This is much more than a traditional administration role. Youll work closely with ophthalmic photographers, nurses, clinicians, kaiawhina, primary care providers and whānau to support equitable access to screening services. Your ability to manage complex databases, coordinate busy clinic schedules and maintain accurate patient information will help ensure no eligible patient is missed while supporting the services goal of achieving excellent screening coverage across Te Tai Tokerau. About the Team/Service/Location The Retinal Diabetes Eye Screening Service is dedicated to reducing preventable vision loss through the early detection and management of diabetic eye disease. Our team works collaboratively across primary, community and hospital services to deliver accessible, patient-centre screening throughout Northland. About you As an experienced administrator, youll thrive in a fast-paced healthcare environment and be passionate about delivering excellent service to patients, whānau and clinical teams. Proven experience in an administrative, coordination or customer service role, with the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines Strong database management and data entry skills, with experience maintaining accurate records and processing patient or customer information Advanced computer skills, including Microsoft Outlook, Word, Teams and Excel Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with patients, whānau, clinical teams, GP practices and community providers Understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and a commitment to improving health outcomes for Māori and underserved populations Working at Health New ZealandHealthNewZealand|Te WhatuOra is dedicated to ensuring excellent healthcare for the people of NewZealand.
