Kaiako - Health and Physical Education (start term 1, 2027) Full time, Permanent Secondary (Years 7–15) / wharekura, Certificated teacher Health and physical education Te Aho o Te Kura Pounamu (Te Kura) is New Zealand's largest school with a roll of up to 24,000 ākonga (students) at any point of time. We provide personalised learning programmes from early childhood to NCEA Level 3. Our ākonga are at the centre of all we do. We're looking for a dedicatedSecondaryKaiako with expertise inHealth and Physical Educationwho hasrecent experience teaching across NCEA Level 1, 2 and 3. The preferred location for this role is in our Te Kāhui Rāwhiti Region or Southern Region locations (Hastings, Wairoa, Gisborne, Masterton, Christchurch, Queenstown, Dunedin or Invercargill), other Te Kura locations will be considered. Kaiako at Te Kura engage with our ākongaonline and face-to-face at huinga ako (advisories) and events, and also work onsite with colleagues in our regional offices. Te Kura aims to provide flexible working arrangements, Kaiako are able to request to work from home for up to 2 days per week. A New Zealand teacher registration and a current practising certificate. Strong knowledge of theHealth and Physical Educationcurriculum and assessment practices. A calm, inclusive, and supportive approach to teaching and pastoral care. Confidence using digital tools to connect with learners. Enthusiasm for collaborative, values driven teaching.
