Our Timber &Building department sits at the heart of our Trade operation, supportingcustomers who rely on us for quality products, efficient service, and practicaladvice. This is a hands-on environment where teamwork matters and no two daysare quite the same. About the Role This is a permanent,full-time opportunity working 40 hours per week across both the TradeCounter and Timber Yard . The roster may be structured across either fouror five working days and includes early starts, late finishes, and weekend work .Flexibility to meet the operational needs of the department is required. Decemberkeeps us on our toes, and we need the whole team in action. For this reason,annual leave takes a break during our December blackout period. This is a practical,trade-focused role involving daily order picking and fulfilment, forkliftoperation, customer service, and support across all aspects of the department.You’ll use computer systems and trade-related software to process ordersaccurately and keep customers moving. We’re looking forsomeone with practical timber knowledge, ideally including an understanding ofwhich timber products are suitable for different building applications. You’llalso need to be confident learning new systems and developing broader product andoperational knowledge through training. This is a physicallydemanding role involving regular handling of timber, building materials, andtrade products, particularly during our busy spring and summer period. Remunerationwill reflect the successful candidate’s relevant skills, experience, andoverall suitability for the role. Key Responsibilities Picking, packing, andfulfilling trade orders accurately Operating a forkliftsafely and confidently to move timber and other materials Assisting trade andretail customers with timber and building products Providing practicalproduct advice and solutions Processing orders andtransactions using computer systems and trade-related software Coordinating customercollections and deliveries Replenishing stockand maintaining merchandising standards Keeping the TradeCounter and Timber Yard safe, tidy, and organised Supporting all areasof the department as required What You’ll Bring A current forkliftlicence is mandatory, with relevant forklift operating experience highlydesirable A full New Zealanddriver licence is required, with support provided to obtain an Fendorsement if needed Practical timber andbuilding product knowledge , ideally including an understanding of which timber isused for different applications Previous experiencein building supplies, construction, or another trade-related environment ishighly desirable Strong numericalskills and confidence working with measurements, quantities, and productcalculations Confidenceusing computer systems and the demonstrated ability to learn new softwarequickly Clear, practicalcommunication skills and a strong customer service focus A reliable approach,strong work ethic, and the ability to safely undertake regular, physicallydemanding work Availability to work40 hours per week, including early starts, late finishes, and weekend work What’s in It for You?
