Specialty Nurse Special Care Baby UnitPermanent, part time role based at Waitākere Hospital (1 FTE 80 hours per fortnight)Opportunity to work collaboratively with our neonatal team to plan care, problem solve and help make a difference to women and babies from the Waitematā DistrictHealth New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora is firmly grounded in the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and is committed to building a health system that serves all New Zealanders. About the Role We are looking for an enthusiastic and dynamic Specialty Nurse to join our team. The main function of this role is to provide extended nursing practice functions of neonatal resuscitation and advanced airway management in birthing, obstetric theatre areas, maternity and SCBU, or any site of a neonatal emergency. You will also undertake assessment of babies with complex needs, recommend and initiate treatment options in accordance with policy or clinical pathways, and in discussion with paediatricians. This is a senior nursing role, so you will provide clinical leadership and role model best practice, as well as take responsibility for the coordination of the unit. About you To be eligible for this role, you will have the following qualifications and experience: Registered Nurse with a current New Zealand Annual Practicing CertificatePost Graduate Certificate or Diploma in appropriate specialty practice papers (preferably neonatal nursing)Current NLS CertificationRecent Level 4 (PDRP) Neonatal experience is preferredWorking at Health New Zealand Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora is dedicated to ensuring excellent healthcare for the people of New Zealand.
