Health New Zealand are looking for Respiratory Physicians who are passionate about delivering quality care to our patients and working across a multi-disciplinary team. We have a collaborative and supportive healthcare system that has an integrated and cross-disciplinary way of working. Our respiratory teams work closely with nurse practitioners, clinical nurse specialists, sleep and respiratory technicians/physiologists and respiratory physiotherapists to deliver the best outcomes for our patients. Responsibilities Roles and responsibilities may include some or all of the following: Provide comprehensive specialist outpatient and inpatient respiratory services, and primary health care support including community-based clinics Elective respiratory services such as bronchoscopy, including both flexible bronchoscopy and linear EBUS Support services on-site include radiology, nuclear medicine, radiation and medical oncology Acute inpatient respiratory consults and procedures Requirements About you To work as a Consultant Respiratory Medicine Physician, applicants must be eligible for vocational registration in Internal Medicine with the Medical Council of New Zealand with specialist training/qualification in Respiratory Medicine. Practitioners need to meet competency standards and hold Annual Practising Certificates (APCs) to work safely and effectively. Salary, benefits and leave The average salary package for Senior Medical Officers in New Zealand is NZD $343,500 Packages are comprised of a base salary based on experience, plus allowances, and superannuation per the ASMS collective agreement You will receive: an annual continuing medical education (CME) allowance of NZD $16,000 paid 3-month sabbaticals every 6 years your indemnity insurance covered by Health NZ your professional fees and subscriptions fully reimbursed complimentary visa and immigration support a tailored relocation package to make your move, if eligible. Leave You’ll get: 6 weeks of annual leave generous discretionary sick leave 14 weeks paid parental leave alongside the government's 26-weeks.
