Environment Southland are seeking a motivated and reliable student to assist our Information Management team with a short-term project involving physical file reorganisation, document digitisation, and records quality assurance. This role provides practical experience within a professional information management environment and is ideal for a student considering a career in records, archives, information governance, or information management. Key Responsibilities Reorganise and prepare physical files for storage and digitisation. Scan paper records using specialised scanning equipment and software. Perform document integrity and quality checks to ensure scanned records are complete, accurate, and legible. Assist with filing, indexing, and document management activities. Follow established information management procedures and standards. Identify and escape any issues relating to document quality or record completeness. Skills and Experience Strong attention to detail and organisational skills. Ability to work independently and manage tasks with minimal supervision. Good computer skills and willingness to learn new systems. Knowledge of document management systems is desirable but not essential. Ability to handle confidential information appropriately. Preferred Qualifications Currently enrolled in, or recently completed, an Information Management, Records Management, Library Studies, Archives, Business Information Systems, or related programme. Demonstrated interest in pursuing a career in information or records management. What We Offer Practical experience in a professional information management environment.
