Working under the direction of a Registered HealthProfessional, you will provide safe, high-quality and culturally respectfulsupport that promotes dignity, independence and wellbeing. About the role As a Support Worker, you will play an important part inhelping people remain active participants in their own care and continue livingfulfilling lives within their communities.Your responsibilities will include: Providing safe, high-quality support in line with individual care plans Supporting clients in a respectful, culturally safe and mana-enhancing way Encouraging independence and participation in everyday activities Promoting dignity, choice and quality of life Following care plans, policies and organisational procedures Working collaboratively with health professionals, clients and their whānau Using technology effectively for communication and service administration Participating in ongoing training and skills development Identifying barriers and opportunities to improve access, experience and outcomes for clients Contributing to inclusive, responsive and effective service delivery Undertaking other reasonable duties as agreed with your manager About you We are looking for someone who is genuinely passionate aboutsupporting people and making a positive difference in their lives.You will be: Empathetic, caring and respectful Reliable and dependable Passionate about helping people live fulfilling and independent lives in their communities Committed to cultural safety, dignity and mana-enhancing care A good communicator who builds positive relationships with clients, whānau and colleagues Able to work independently while also contributing positively to a team Comfortable using Microsoft applications and other technology Willing to learn and develop your skills What you'll need NZ Certificate in Health and Wellbeing (Level 2), or a willingness to undertake this qualification with support to progress through Level 3 and potentially Level 4 A current full New Zealand driver's licence Competency with Microsoft applications and similar software A commitment to ongoing learning and professional development It would be an advantage if you havePrevious caregiving or support work experience in the community, hospital or aged-care environment Experience supporting people with complex or changing needs An understanding of person-centred care and the importance of supporting people to maintain their independence Join us This is a rewarding opportunity to make a genuine differencein the lives of people in our communities.If you are caring, dependable and passionate about helpingpeople live well and maintain their independence, we would love to hear fromyou.
