We’re lookingfor a compassionate and skilled Registered Nurse to join our dedicatedInpatient Mental Health team on the beautiful West Coast. As part ofour supportive and collaborative team, you’ll provide safe, effective, andculturally responsive mental health care for clients and their whānau -supporting their journey toward recovery and wellness in a rural setting thatallows you to make a real impact. About theRole As a MentalHealth Nurse within our inpatient team, you’ll work under a primary andassociate nursing model, undertaking comprehensive assessments, treatmentplanning, risk assessments, and delivering evidence-based interventions. You'llbe responsible for: Providingclient-centred, recovery-oriented care in line with the Mental Health(Compulsory Assessment and Treatment) Act 1992. Conductingpsychiatric assessments, developing collaborative wellness and transitionplans, and offering brief interventions. Workingwith clients and their whānau to ensure culturally safe and responsivecare. Coordinatingwith multidisciplinary teams to ensure continuity and quality of care. Supportingbest outcomes for Māori and Pacific peoples, aligned with the principlesof Te Tiriti o Waitangi. About You Currentregistration with the Nursing Council of New Zealand as a Registered Nurse(with mental health scope). CurrentAnnual Practising Certificate (APC). Commitmentto culturally safe and person-centred care. Abilityto assess, plan, implement, and evaluate client care within a mentalhealth framework. Strongdocumentation, communication, and interpersonal skills. Experiencewith talking therapies or brief interventions. Familiaritywith West Coast mental health services and community supports. Culturalcompetency training or willingness to undertake it. Workingtowards a Professional Development Recognition Programme (PDRP)portfolio.
