Full-Time | Permanent | Accredited Employer Alondo is a premium Italian-inspired restaurant in Dunedin. Built around seasonal produce, house-made pasta, and traditional dough techniques, Alondo will operate lunch and dinner, five days per week. We are seeking an experienced Restaurant Manager to lead front-of-house operations and play a key role in the successful launch and ongoing performance of the business. This is a senior, hands-on management position responsible for overseeing all aspects of restaurant operations, team leadership, and service delivery within a structured, high-performing environment. The Role Reporting to the business owner and working closely with the Head Chef, the Restaurant Manager will be responsible for the overall management of front-of-house operations, ensuring efficient service, strong team performance, and consistent delivery of a premium customer experience. This role requires a capable operator who can take ownership of systems, staffing, and day-to-day decision-making within a fast-paced hospitality environment. Key Responsibilities Oversee daily restaurant operations, ensuring smooth and efficient service across all trading periods Lead, manage, and develop front-of-house staff, including recruitment, training, rostering, and performance management Maintain high standards of customer service and guest experience Monitor and manage labour costs in line with business targets Work alongside the Head Chef to coordinate service flow and maintain operational efficiency Manage bookings, floor planning, and service organisation Maintain supplier relationships and oversee ordering of front-of-house stock and consumables Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and food control regulations Implement and maintain operational systems, procedures, and service standards Contribute to overall business performance, including revenue growth and cost control Skills & Experience Required Minimum 3 years’ experience in a restaurant or hospitality management role Proven ability to manage staff and lead a team in a structured environment Strong understanding of restaurant operations, including rostering, cost control, and service delivery Experience working in a high-volume or premium dining environment Excellent communication and organisational skills Ability to work evenings, weekends, and public holidays as required A relevant hospitality qualification (NZQF Level 4 or equivalent) is preferred but not essential. Permanent, full-time position Minimum 40 hours per week Hourly rate: $30.00 - $35.00 per hour (dependent on experience) Alondo is an Accredited Employer with Immigration New Zealand.
