About therole
Wāhi Tautoko is a 10-beddedservice located in Building 8. We aim to support consumers that requireextended assessment or treatment following an admission to the acute inpatientservice prior to discharge.
This may include:
- tāngata whaiorawho are presenting to services for the first time that may require extendedassessment and support around management of their symptoms.
- tāngata whaiorathat have an identified discharge pathway on admission i.e. home or supportedaccommodation but may require some additional assessment and upskilling tosafely and successfully transition into the community.
- tāngata whaiorawho may have limited social supports and require support to increase theirengagement in their local communities.
The goals of the serviceinclude:
- Provision of asafe and supportive environment to provide extended assessment treatment andrehabilitation following an admission to the adult acute service
- Teaching skillsto help support illness management and to support consumers to live the lifethey want to live
- Supportdevelopment of structure and meaningful routines
- Support safedischarge into a community setting
About You
We will be looking for experiencedRegistered and Enrolled Nurse with mental health scope who are passionateabout providing consumer centred care.
- Part-time 0.47FTE opportunity available
- Rotating roster of 2 days on 4 days off
- Work autonomously and as part of a cohesivemulti-disciplinary team
Skills and experience
In order to be successfulin this role the following is required:
- Registered with the Nursing Council of New Zealandwith a current APC and mental health scope
- Previous experience working within any area of mentalhealth
- Self-motivated flexible and solutions-focused
- Knowledge of and a commitment to Te Tiriti O Waitangi
