Wine & Spirits Expert Wanted – Full-Time Duty manager Wine & Spirits Expert Wanted – Full-Time Duty manager Liquorland Whitianga Liquorland Whitianga is a locally owned, family‑run store, recognised within the Liquorland network as a Regional Franchise winner and Sel Granger Award recipient. We’re looking for an experienced Duty Manager with strong wine or spirits expertise to join our team. This role is ideal for someone who genuinely knows their product — whether that’s wine, whisky, gin, tequila, rum, or premium spirits — and enjoys sharing that knowledge with customers every day. This is not a “point and sell” role. It’s about helping customers choose well. THE ROLE Duty Manager responsibilities including compliance, store supervision & customer service Strong focus on wine & spirits recommendations Supporting tastings, new product launches & range presentation Busy but organised store with high standards Hands‑on owners who are present, fair & supportive THIS ROLE WOULD SUIT SOMEONE WHO Has retail and/or liquor experience Has strong wine or spirits knowledge (work, hospitality, tastings, study or personal interest) Is confident talking to customers about flavour profiles, regions & styles Holds a Duty Manager Certificate (or is actively working towards it) Is physically able to handle stock & deliveries, including regular lifting of cartons, kegs & stock trolleys WHAT WE OFFER Pay $28.95–$32/hr, depending on experience & wine or spirits knowledge Stable hours & a consistent roster A positive, respectful work environment A role where product knowledge is genuinely valued & used daily Opportunities to be involved in tastings & range development Applicants must be legally entitled to work in New Zealand. #J-18808-Ljbffr
