About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Distribution Cable Jointers to join our team delivering electricity distribution network projects and maintenance works across the Canterbury region.
This is a hands-on field-based role involving the installation, jointing, termination, testing, commissioning, maintenance, and fault repair of underground electrical cables and associated network assets. You will work across a variety of sites throughout Canterbury and be committed to maintaining the highest standards of safety, quality, and workmanship.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out HV and LV cable jointing and terminations.
- Install, maintain, test, and commission underground distribution network assets.
- Locate and repair cable faults.
- Read and interpret network drawings and technical documentation.
- Complete work in accordance with industry standards, network owner requirements, and company procedures.
- Maintain accurate job records and reporting.
- Participate in emergency response and after-hours callout work when required.
- Ensure compliance with all Health and Safety requirements.
Minimum Requirements (Essential)
Applicants must have:
- Hold registration (full, provisional or limited) from the Electrical Workers Registered Board (EWRB) as a Cable Jointer
- 2 years experience with LV and 11KV Cable Jointing
- Hands on experience in cable jointing work to industry standards
- Class 1 Drivers Licence or overseas equivalent
- Physically resilient and composed under pressure
- Drive for zero harm and relentlessly pursues safety
- Sound technical Knowledge of cables and local network systems, procedures and standards
- A strong commitment to health and safety
