About the Company Mainstream New Zealand is a 100% New Zealand owned and operated freight, transport and logistics business, founded in 1992 and headquartered in Otahuhu, Auckland. With a nationwide branch network and around 450 people across the group, including Mainstream Global, TDL and Sonasafe, Mainstream is growing fast and building the structure to match. The Role Reporting to the CFO, you'll take ownership of procurement and property across the business, from strategic sourcing and supplier negotiation through to managing a nationwide branch portfolio. This is a newly created, sole charge role, needed now as Mainstream continues to grow. You'll bring structure, consistency and commercial rigour to two functions that are ready for the next stage of their development. Key Responsibilities Lead end to end strategic sourcing, tendering and negotiation across the business Build best practice procurement frameworks and processes as the business grows and scales Own supplier and contractor performance, including SLAs, KPIs and vendor risk Assist daily operations across a nationwide multi-asset corporate portfolio, lifting accountability at branch level and identifying efficiencies across the network Partner with finance and operations leaders as a trusted business advisor on procurement and commercial decision making Key Skills & Experience Required Experience across both procurement and property in reasonably equal measure highly desirable Background managing a complex, multi-site landlord and leasing portfolio, ideally in an industrial or logistics environment Senior leadership experience in freight or logistics highly regarded, along with a track record leading change and process improvement Strong financial acumen, with the ability to manage operational budgets and identify cost efficiencies Confident negotiator across landlords, suppliers and trade contractors, with a track record securing sound vendor agreements Tertiary qualification in Property, Asset or Facilities Management highly desirable; PINZ or FMANZ membership a bonus What's in it for you This is a rare chance to build a combined function from the ground up, with direct backing from the CFO and full autonomy over how you shape it.
