Tetūranga The role

As a Senior Advisor in Portfolio Risk you will provide strategic and technical leadership across financial risk management helping strengthen how the Bankidentifiesmeasuresand manages balance sheet and traded risk. You willadvisesenior Money Group stakeholders lead capability uplift and enhancement initiatives and support strong oversightgovernanceand decision-making in line with the Banks policyobjectives.

In this role you will:

• Provide strategic and technicalexpertiseacross marketcreditand liquidity risk management.

• Lead the development of risk models stress testing scenario analysis capitalmodellingand exposure measurement.

• Drive improvements to risk systemsmethodologytoolsand technology to support best-practice outcomes.

• Develop and operationalise financial risk policiesframeworksand governance practices.

• Provideclear advice on financial risks to support effective decision-making and strong oversight.

• Support first and second line financial risk management and promote an integrated risk culture.

• Act as second-in-charge when including leading the team and executing key delegations.

• Coachmentorand develop team members while leading capability uplift initiatives.

• Build effective internal and external relationships and deliver fit-for-purpose outputs.

• Contribute to broader Financial Markets Group and cross-functional priorities includingTeTiritiTeAo Māori diversity and inclusionhealthand safety and RBNZ values.

Ōpūkenga About you

To succeed in this role you will bring:

• A tertiary qualification in finance quantitative finance economics or a related discipline or equivalent professional experience.

• Significant experiencein financial markets centralbankingor risk management with strongexpertisein marketliquidityand credit risk.

• Deep balance sheet knowledge financial instrument valuation experience andexpertisein risk modelling stresstestingand scenario analysis.

• Strong data quantitative and programming capability including experience with tools such as Python SAS/SQL R orMatLab.

• Knowledge of key market and credit risk tools and techniques includingVaR Expected Shortfall PV01/DV01 expected credit loss counterparty creditriskand CVA/DVA.

• Experience leading best-practice risk initiatives developing frameworks and policies and supporting strong governance.

• Strong communicationjudgementand leadership skills with the ability to think holistically motivate others and build capability.

• Knowledge and application ofTeTiriti o Waitangi eligibility for NZ National Security Clearance and flexibility for occasional inter-office travel.
