About the opportunity
The Community Oral Health Service has a permanent, full-time (40 hours per week) opportunity available for an Oral Health Therapist (including New Graduates) or Dental Therapist to work as part of our professional and supportive Oamaru team. This 1.0 FTE role is based in our clinic in Exe Street, Oamaru. There has never been a better time to join our Southern Family!
About the role
You will be responsible for maintaining the oral health of children in our region, educating children and their families on oral health and the prevention of dental disease. You will recognise, diagnose and treat oral abnormalities and disease within your scope of practice.
You will work alongside a Dental Assistant as part of a supportive, experienced and friendly team who is committed to delivering quality health services for our tamariki.
We are looking for an enthusiastic team-player, keen to grow their knowledge and skills with a proactive approach towards learning. Excellent communication, natural empathy for children and great interpersonal skills are essential.
You will need to have the flexibility to be able to cover occasional rostered afternoon shifts. You will also need to be able to work in other clinics throughout the region; on occasion, this may see you staying away for up to five days at a time.

Salary range
This role belongs to the Te Whatu Ora & PSA Allied, Public Health, Scientific & Technical CA ) and falls between Step 1 ($77,087) to Step 7 ($107,600) p.a. pro-rata.
