About the role

This role will effectively contribute to the smooth running of the Maternity Service by providing an efficient and timely administrative support function that is responsive and flexible to the changing needs of the service.

Tasks include but are not limited to the following :

  • Provide timely and accurate confidential administrative support to enable the efficient functioning of the service
  • Set up and maintain effective electronic and paper filing systems and procedures relevant to the service, enabling quick access to information
  • Greeting and answering enquiries from visitors and women and their families / whānau accessing our service, both in person and on the telephone
  • Provide administrative support to the Charge Midwife Manager as requested

About you

Our ideal candidate will have the following :

  • Have at least two years clerical administration experience
  • High standard of interpersonal communication skills, including written and verbal
  • Knowledge of office systems and procedures
  • Evidence of good literacy and numeracy skills
  • Excellent computer skills, including knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook (email)
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills
  • Performs tasks reliably, skilfully and accurately
  • Accomplish complex tasks with little supervisory requirement
