Part Time - 32 hours per week.
$23.38 - $29.10 per hour.

As a Community Support Worker you take on tasks that are dynamic and will depend on the needs and dreams of each person.
You will provide assistance with personal activities such as community participation, socialising, work or education and daily living tasks.ResponsibilitiesProvide support for adults with intellectual and / or physical disabilities to live great lives, including assistance with personal activities, community participation, socialising, work or education and daily living tasks.Adapt activities to the needs and dreams of each person, promoting independence and safety.Assist with personal cares and daily living skills; support and motivate the person you support and their family as appropriate.Skills & ExperienceEmpathy for the challenges of trying to build an ordinary life while living with a disabilityEnergy to keep up with someone who likes to be on the goAbility to remain calm and reassuring in all situationsResilience to help people maintain boundaries to ensure safetyGood at explaining and negotiatingEffective and supportive communication with family, colleagues and the person you supportAbility and willingness to provide support and motivation with personal cares and daily living skillsExcellent, clear, understandable verbal and written EnglishThe Ideal Candidate Will HaveInterest in attaining a Community Support Worker Level Three or above qualification; support to achieve this while you workExperience supporting people with disabilities, and / or mental health issues, and / or challenging behaviours is desirable but not necessaryReliability, commitment, and passion for working with peopleA full New Zealand driver's licenseAble to pass a NZ police checkAbility to use a computer effectively, including Word, Internet and emailRequirementsFor non-residents applying for this role, INZ Level 3 skill requirements : either have worked in the care workforce for 3 years or more with pay at the care workforce wage rate, or hold a NZQCF level 4 qualification (or a diploma for a role at skill level 2).
