Job descriptionA positive, self-starter who is driven by successful delivery as a team. Highly effective organisational skills including time management, prioritising and forward planning, as well as the ability to manage and drive multiple tasks and deliverables at any one time. An excellent communicator with the ability to build and maintain working relationships across a wide range of stakeholders. Ability to facilitate planning workshops and translate information into a deliverable plan. Eye for detail – high degree of accuracy when undertaking tasks. Tertiary qualification in a relevant field. Project and / or programme management certification (PMP, PRINCE2, PgMP, MSP or similar) and a minimum of 10 years' experience in either. Financial management experience. Excellent written and oral skills. Experience working in local government is desirable. This role is based at the Paeroa office as part of the Hauraki & Coromandel Flood Scheme Team. This role is also part of a wider portfolio team with other programme managers across the ICM Directorate. This role supports a programme board in overseeing and making decisions on the capital programme. A collaborative, supportive environment focused on innovation and excellence. Mo te turanga | About the role
- Based in Paeroa.
- Planning and management of a scheme-wide work programme consisting of an annual capital budget of around $5m to $10m.
- Oversighting and coordinating the planning and delivery of the programme in collaboration with the operations, asset management and project managers.
- Management of contractor resources to support delivery of the capital programme.
- Development and delivery of a work programme within a continually changing environment and the ability to support informed decision making in a timely manner.
- Consideration and understanding of the programme impact on rates and ratepayers, with identification and implementation of management options to address funding issues.
- Teamwork across multiple sections, directorates and organisations.
