About the Role
We have a permanent, full-time opportunity available to join our Heath Protection directorate as a Senior Advisor, Communicable Disease , reporting into the Manager Communicable Disease. This role is critical in enabling the delivery of the NPHSstrategic agenda for Pae Ora(Healthy Futures). The Senior Advisor role will support the development of high-quality advice to manage communicable diseases drawing on technical advice and project leadership and support.

The NPHS within Health New Zealand - Te Whatu Ora, work towards Pae Ora (healthy futures) for all by engaging with the wider determinants that impact people's health, focusing on oranga / wellbeing, prevention, protection, and population-level intervention. We are connected across boundaries to deliver public health services that are nationally planned, regionally delivered and locally tailored.
About you
Your expertise lies in providing direction and support to achieve organisational priorities and delivering complex and contentious pieces of work. You have experience and knowledge of communicable diseases and can lead work and engage strategically with stakeholders, advocating and challenging to ensure the work aligns with obligations set across the health sector.
