The role

We're on the hunt for a passionate Chef de Partie to bring their flair, creativity, and culinary skills to our dynamic kitchen team at the Christchurch Adventure Park Café.

You\'ll work side-by-side with our talented Head Chef, taking charge of specific sections and helping deliver mouth-watering, high-quality dishes that keep our guests coming back for more - especially during our vibrant, fast-paced summer season.

This is a fixed term position (6 months), based at one of Christchurch's most iconic outdoor destinations.

You'll be guaranteed a minimum of 60 hours per fortnight, including afternoon / evening shifts and weekend work.

Responsibilities

A minimum of 2 years' experience in a commercial kitchen (already on the candidate list)

A Level 3 National Certificate in Hospitality (Professional Cookery) – highly desirable

Strong leadership and communication skills – you\'re a team player who can take the lead when needed

The ability to multi-task, stay calm under pressure, and keep things running smoothly

Experience with ordering and supplier management

A work ethic that's honest, dependable, enthusiastic, and always striving for excellence

Established in 1894, the UCSA is a registered not-for-profit organisation that supports UC students to succeed and belong.

Our organisation is governed by an elected Student Executive, and we employ over 300 staff.

Together, we dish up a range of student-focused services, including advocacy and welfare, representation, subsidised dental and optometry, early learning centres, club support, events, and media.

The UCSA commercial team manages several cafes and bars, as well as sizeable catering and events teams delivering services to students, staff, external customers and commercial partners.
