The Commis Chef plays a crucial role in the kitchen team at Mr Illingsworth, supporting the smooth and efficient running of food preparation and cooking processes.
This is a part‑time position working a minimum of 20 rostered hours per week. Flexibility is key with the ability to be available for late night and weekend shifts.
Key Responsibilities
- Assisting in the preparation of dishes according to company recipes and standards
- Preparing ingredients for cooking, including washing, peeling, and chopping
- Monitoring inventory levels of kitchen supplies and informing seniors when stocks are low
- Assisting in food presentation and ensuring that all dishes meet aesthetic standards
- Contributing to maintaining a clean and orderly kitchen environment
- Following all relevant health and safety regulations and practices
- Collaborating with senior chefs to ensure timely delivery of high‑quality meals
- Adhering to portion control guidelines to ensure cost‑effectiveness
