Overview

We are seeking an experienced and proactive Business Analyst for a 6‑month fixed‑term contract to play a critical role in enabling our strategic media initiatives at Sky New Zealand.

Key Responsibilities

Work with internal Product Owners and the Media Capability team to understand business goals, product vision, and strategic priorities.
Review vendor deliverables to ensure quality, accuracy, and compliance with business requirements.
Coordinate and support User Acceptance Testing (UAT), ensuring outcomes meet defined acceptance criteria.
Monitor project progress, proactively identify risks, issues, and dependencies, and raise escalations to the Product Owner.
Support vendor onboarding by ensuring they have the necessary documentation, access, and context.
Define user stories and acceptance criteria to communicate needs and outcomes clearly.
Manage project risks, issues, and impacts, keeping stakeholders informed.
Recommend improvements to business processes, workflows, and system efficiencies.
Challenge ideas constructively to ensure alignment to product objectives and value delivery.
Enable teams to meet business needs and drive continuous improvement across delivery practices.

Essential Skills & Experience

Strong technology acumen with experience across billing systems, telecommunications, networks, server platforms, and virtualised environments.

Demonstrated ability to bring differing viewpoints together to drive cohesive, strategic outcomes.

Experience delivering products and projects using both plan‑driven and Agile (Scrum / Scrum‑like) delivery methodologies.

Advanced business process mapping, benefits analysis, and use of analysis tools such as BPMN.

5+ years of Business Analysis experience across the full software development lifecycle within Agile environments.

Strong stakeholder engagement and requirement analysis capabilities.

Nice to Have

Familiarity with broadcast and media technology environments, including content management systems, transmission platforms, OTT streaming, digital ad insertion.

Exposure to tools such as IBMS, Viz (MAM), Power BI, SQL, Jira, Confluence.
