Overview

The Role : An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Dispatcher to join our Silo team based in Auroa, South Taranaki. This is a hands-on, fast-paced role where experience in rural transport is highly valued. You’ll be responsible for scheduling and dispatching our bulk feed silo fleet, ensuring efficient use of resources by managing drivers’ workloads and allocating daily jobs. The role also involves building and maintaining strong relationships with key customers, as well as carrying out general dispatching and office administration duties. This is a full-time, permanent position working Monday–Friday, with some Saturday work required during peak seasonal periods. Flexibility to support the seasonal nature of our industry is essential.

Responsibilities

  • Schedule and dispatch the bulk feed silo fleet; manage drivers’ workloads and allocate daily jobs to ensure efficient use of resources.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers.
  • Carry out general dispatching and office administration duties.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to support seasonal demand and peak periods.
  • Adhere to health and safety practices and promote safe work methods at all times.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Proven experience in dispatching and / or scheduling, ideally across multiple sites.
  • Understanding of stock feed and fertiliser products.
  • Reliability, strong work ethic, and ability to work well in a team.
  • Health and safety focused, role-modeling safe practices at all times.
  • Sound geographical knowledge of the lower North Island.
  • Effective communication with internal and external stakeholders (drivers, customers, and colleagues).
  • Computer literacy, comfortable with technology, and accurate data entry.
  • Strong attention to detail, with the ability to think quickly and solve problems.
  • Enthusiastic, adaptable, and quick to learn.
