Stellar Kids is a small, privately owned early learning centre licensed for 30 tamariki aged 0–5.

We value respectful care, strong relationships, a deep connection to nature, and learning through play. Our backyard is one of the best out there (real trees, grass and mud!) and we love making the most of our stunning natural environment. We also believe in healthy living and model healthy habits for our tamariki.

We’re looking for a centre team leader to join our friendly, committed team later this year. The start date may be flexible — if we find the right person, our current team leader may choose to reduce her hours as she nears the birth of her baby.

This maternity cover role will run until at least early 2027, with a strong possibility of becoming permanent.

As the day-to-day leader, you’ll ensure smooth operations, be a key point of contact for our families, and provide professional guidance for our teaching team. You’ll work primarily in our 2 to 5-year-old room, which is the larger of our two spaces and home to most of our children, while also spending time in our infant room to support the team there.

You’ll have the support of a hands-on owner who splits her time between two centres, giving you guidance when needed but also the autonomy to lead your team.

We’re seeking someone with :

• Proven leadership in an ECE setting
• Strong understanding of compliance and best practice
• Excellent planning, organisation, and communication skills.
