Grantlea Downs School is seeking a skilled and committed professional to undertake the role of learning support coordinator within our school.

The successful applicant will :

Support learners by identifying and understanding their needs, and by providing timely, culturally responsive support so they can thrive, belong, and progress in all aspects of school life.

Build staff capability to better meet the needs of learners and to strengthen their connections with early learning services.

Encourage and support parents and whanau to work in partnership with the school, developing a clear understanding of learning support processes and points of contact.

Access and coordinate services and resources to effectively support learners.

Influence and collaborate with others to ensure all learners receive appropriate support to enhance their learning and progress.

Report directly to the principal.

We are looking for a candidate who holds the necessary qualifications and demonstrated knowledge and experience (LATs accepted) in the following areas :

Child development and learning : Understanding developmental milestones and their relationship to educational needs.

Inclusive education practices : Applying evidence-based strategies to support diverse learners.

Use of data and evidence : Capability in analysing and applying data to inform planning and reporting on learning support needs.

Bicultural knowledge and practice : Understanding and applying Te Tiriti o Waitangi within New Zealand school contexts
