Job description

We are seeking a talented individual to join our Mercer Marsh Benefits team at Marsh . This role will be based in our Wellington, Christchurch or Auckland office.

As a Senior Insurance Specialist (IC Specialist) you will be responsible for the active management and processing of annual reviews in a timely manner.

Through the Mercer Marsh Benefits Joint Venture, we provide world‑class health and insured benefits related consulting, brokerage and administrative services, solving our clients’ most complex benefits administration challenges.

We will count on you to :

  • Timely and accurate processing of correspondence, letters, invoices, quotations and documentation
  • Premium and adjustment calculations
  • Information and documentation for pre‑renewal and broking meetings
  • Draft policy wordings and endorsements for review by Client Executives
  • Providing technical support to clients and dealing with enquiries via phone or email
  • Client management – planning renewals and updating records, daily communication and liaising, arranging medical assessments, drafting policy wording

What you need to have :

This role will suit a detailed focused, energetic team player who enjoys a performance focused environment looking to take a step up in their career into the insurance industry.

The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate the following :

  • 1–3 years of experience in group employee benefits
  • Accurate and efficient data entry
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise work and meet deadlines
  • Ability to work in a challenging environment
  • Ability to work proactively independently or within a team
  • Intermediate / advanced Excel skills
  • Customer‑centric mindset
  • Driven, flexible, adaptive and responsive approach
  • Previous experience in a sales or team support role is ideal
  • Professional and an effective communicator
