Expression of Interest : Content Creator & Producer – Matatū. Content Creator & Producer – Contract for Services. Matatū is the Super Rugby Aupiki team representing the Crusaders and Highlanders regions. Our name symbolises tūmanawa (determination), tūaho (legacy), tūhono (connection) and tūtira (unity) in representing the South Island. We are the only standalone women’s brand in the Super Rugby landscape, focused on building a movement that champions connection, diversity, and the growth of the women’s game.

This is an opportunity for sports storytellers, advocates for women’s sport, or anyone passionate about crafting digital content that resonates to work with a team redefining the game.
The Role
Engaged on a contract for services across the pre-season and season, the Content Creator & Producer will deliver engaging long- and short-form digital media, including photography and video content, that brings the Matatū story to life. You will collaborate with players, staff, and community partners to capture :
Your work will amplify the voices of our diverse and talented wāhine toa (women warriors) and help shape Matatū’s digital presence. You will develop content plans that reflect Matatū’s brand strategy and values, create, edit, and produce video content and photography for multiple social platforms, spotlight community stories, diversity, and cultural connection, and collaborate with players and staff to grow social engagement. You will support media and press days with high-quality content delivery and provide content for commercial partners that aligns with brand messaging. Stay up to date with social media trends and production tools. A graphic design skillset to produce high-impact graphics, motion assets, and print-ready artwork is desirable but not essential.
Skills & Experience
Contract Details
Contract period : Delivery of services required across January to August 2025, with the bulk of services delivered May to August, including weekend work and travel.
Based at Matatū HQ, Lincoln University . Travel across NZ required during preseason and the Aupiki competition. Contractor will have access to some equipment, cameras etc but will need to provide their own laptop and some tools of trade.
