About the Role We are looking for Registered Nurses to join our Ward B8 team who are passionate about patient centred care and are keen to advance their nursing skills and knowledge.
We have one full-time permanent position available and two fixed-term positions available covering parental leave.

Role 1 : 1.0 FTE (40hrs per week) Role 2 : 0.9 FTE (36hrs per week from March
No two days are the same when you work with a diverse patient group with complex presenting conditions.
Ward B8 is also a Dedicated Education Unit and we have a Progressive Care Unit which also provides an opportunity to expand your nursing and observation skills.
About the Service Ward B8 is a busy, acute ward caring for patients with neurological conditions including; brain tumours, head injuries, spinal tumours, movement disorders and seizures.
As the largest inpatient neuroscience facility in the South Island it is a busy medical and surgical environment caring for a complex patient group with a diverse range of neurological and neurosurgical conditions.
Our large multidisciplinary team are a skilled, passionate group of specialists focused on advancing care that will improve clinical outcomes for our patient group.
About you We are looking for Registered Nurses with recent Neurosurgery / Neurology or Surgical experience.
You'll have excellent communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to work well under pressure within a multidisciplinary team environment.
Neurosurgery and Neurology experience – preferred but not essential 2+ years Surgical experience Ability to work all shifts – Morning, Afternoon and Nights Ability to work both autonomously and collaboratively with other professionals Committed to providing a consistently high standard of patient care Sound assessment and decision-making skills Work calmly under pressure Excellent time management, organisational and interpersonal skills The ability to be adaptable, flexible and solution focused Registered with the Nursing Council of New Zealand with a current Annual Practising Certificate (APC) Working at Health New Zealand Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora is dedicated to ensuring excellent healthcare for the people of New Zealand.
