Freelance Illustrator – Magical Children’s Storybook

This opportunity is for a creative illustrator to bring a children’s book to life across approximately 25 pages. The project is a personal endeavour, offering flexibility in both artistic style and timeline. The selected illustrator will collaborate closely to ensure the visual narrative aligns with the story’s tone and audience, making it an ideal role for someone passionate about children’s literature and visual storytelling. The work is fully remote and suited to those comfortable working independently on a project basis.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate closely with the writer to ensure the visual narrative aligns with the story’s tone and audience.
  • Create illustration work across ~25 pages of a children’s book.
  • Interpret and visually enhance written narratives.
  • Manage project timelines and deliverables independently.
  • Communicate progress, concepts, and revisions effectively.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in illustrating children’s books or similar projects.
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating a range of illustration styles suitable for young audiences.
  • Ability to interpret and visually enhance written narratives.
  • Excellent communication skills for discussing concepts, feedback, and revisions.
  • Comfortable working remotely and managing project timelines independently.
  • Proficiency in digital illustration tools (e.g., Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, Procreate).
  • Open to feedback and collaborative input on style and direction.
  • Availability to complete the project within an agreed timeframe.
