About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced Ministerial Advisor to provide strategic, political, and operational advice across a range of portfolios.

This role supports a Minister's office, offering advisory expertise to ensure the smooth delivery of Government priorities.

A natural relationship builder, you will develop and maintain strong working relationships with caucus, coalition and support parties in order to facilitate progress of policy and legislation within the Minister's portfolio responsibilities.

You will manage the Ministerial office relationship with the Coalition and support party spokespeople and work with the Prime Minister's office on consultation matters.

Key Responsibilities

Provide high-level advice on legislative, policy, and parliamentary matters.

Liaise with caucus, coalition, and support parties to facilitate policy and legislative progress.

Monitor select committee activity and advise on implications for Government.

Identify and manage political risks, operating on a "no surprises" basis.

Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure alignment with Government objectives.

Mentor junior advisors and contribute to capability building across the precinct.

Ideal Candidate

Experience in Government advisory or political strategy roles.

Understanding of parliamentary processes and legislative frameworks.

Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Ability to manage sensitive issues with discretion and political acumen.

Demonstrated leadership and mentoring capability
