Clinical Nurse Specialist - Ophthalmology Theatre

Zealand with a current APC.

About the Role

Our Operating Theatre Suite at Christchurch Hospital

consists of 28 theatres which provide acute and elective operating from all

surgical specialties on a 24-hour, 7 day a week basis.

We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Clinical Nurse

Specialist who will enjoy leading our large team of health professionals in

this fast paced and challenging environment.

About You

This role will keep all Operating

Theatre Personnel up to date with the skills required to work in our

Ophthalmology specialty within the operating theatre.

You will spend time of

the floor leading care and identifying areas for improvement.

The CNS will be working alongside

members of our senior nursing team to provide a consistent approach to care

delivery across the service.

You will be expected to participate in quality

projects and in the development of clinical pathways with the Ophthalmology Specialty.

You will also be responsible for equipment, consumables and preference books

alongside being the key link to the surgeons related to this speciality.

• You will be an experienced practitioner with expert

knowledge and skills in Ophthalmology.

• Extensive Operating Theatre experience in several

settings would be advantageous.

• You should have proven leadership ability and be

able to demonstrate that you are adaptable, flexible to achieve solution

focused outcomes.

• Motivated and flexible self-starter with the

ability to work both in a team and autonomously.

• You will act as a specialist resource for other

nurses, medical practitioners and patients.

• Have quality improvement / change management
