Refrigeration & HVAC Technician

Equans NZ Limited is seeking an experienced Refrigeration & HVAC Technician to join our Auckland branch supporting customers in the Auckland region.

About The Role

We are seeking an experienced Refrigeration & HVAC Technician to join our friendly Auckland team. Our team is passionate about commercial refrigeration and mechanical services and takes pride in the quality of their work. You will need to have a strong focus on customer service, work safely, and maintain technical knowledge of industry codes and standards, enabling you to perform refrigeration, HVAC and electrical work on building services equipment. Experience with centralised refrigeration (rack systems) for the food industry is an advantage. Participation in an on‑call roster and ongoing overtime are available.

Responsibilities

  • Work autonomously and within a team, prioritising health and safety.
  • Diagnose technical issues, prioritise workload to meet customer service levels and deliver timely outcomes.
  • Manage customer concerns and complaints effectively, providing resolution.
  • Identify potential sales opportunities and promote cost‑effective solutions for repairs, replacements and upgrades.
  • Comply with company policies, procedures and processes to exceed customer expectations.
  • Pro‑actively strengthen customer relationships and create opportunities within the Equans business and community.

Technical Qualifications & Experience

  • Relevant trade qualifications.
  • EST Licence.
  • Proven experience in commercial and industrial service, maintenance and installation of equipment within the refrigeration and building services industry.
  • Experience with controls and building management systems.
  • Experience with Transcritical CO₂ systems is an advantage; training will be provided if required.
  • Excellent ability to build effective relationships with clients.
  • Excellent communication skills to clearly relate with clients and peers.
  • Current clean NZ driver licence.
