A recent consent to develop the previous Martha mine has provided our project with an extension of life providing our 350 staff and contractors, and the people of Waihi, an assurance that we plan to be here for the long-term.
Job Description
This role is responsible for the efficient conduct of underground and surface geological data collection, including but not limited to : core processing, drill contractor supervision, drill site preparation, rock, soil and sediment sampling, data entry and general project assistance within the exploration and geology department.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities
Core and Sample Support, including warehousing, core cutting & photography, recovery logging, geotechnical logging etc
Restocking of all geology and sampling related supplies.
Surface (both ground and helicopter based, and Underground Drill Support).
Core and sample collection as required.
Drill Site & Drill Rig preparation and Inspections.
Rehab of drill sites.
Contractor Liaison (Trucks, Drillers, Heavy Equipment).
Field support to exploration field programmes.
Ground and heli supported programmes.
Rock, soil and sediment sampling.
Geological & geophysical surveys
Qualifications
Secondary schooling
Full and Current Driver Licence, ability to drive manual vehicles is preferred.
Forklift, Chainsaw, 4WD training, bush skills, First Aid experience preferred.
Computer skills including Word, Excel and other Microsoft Office products
