Plant Operator / Maintenance Officer

About therole

The Plant Operator / Maintenance Officer is responsible for assisting the SiteSupervisor with all facets of the plant operation. This includesmaintenance, dryer operation and mill and storage operationalfunctions. The role is responsible for maximising functionality ofthe grain drier, storage and mill efficiency, and minimising downtime. The role requires multi-tasking with hands-on responsibilityfor ensuring the effective operation of the grain drier andassociated handling equipment; assisting with the operation of the mill; receipt and dispatch of grain (including sundry retail salesthrough the grain store); and receipt, storage and despatch ofseeds, chemicals and other supplies.

Duties

• Promote and uphold astrong Safety, Health & Environment (SH&E) culture toachieve a zero-harm workplace.
• Carry out plantmaintenance tasks within own scope of knowledge and skills,work with Site Supervisor, Senior Plant Operator or other staffto complete maintenance tasks or engage outside support(contractors) as required.
• Operate the graindrier at optimum productivity levels and achieve specifiedgrain quality.
• Issue weighbridgedockets and maintain log records, ensuring prompt and accurateweighing of loads on receipt and dispatch.
• Conduct moisture andquality checks, maintaining accurate records of allactivities.
• Respond to clientstockfeed orders, providing bagged or bulk grain asrequested.
• Provide general sitesupport and assist other facilities as required.

Aboutyou

• Machinerymaintenance and engineering skills, including welding and component manufacturing.
• Experience workingin a varied and fast paced operational / manufacturingenvironment.
• Knowledge of qualitycontrol processes and procedures.
• Experience withhealth, safety and environmental obligations.
• Competent andtrained in Confined space and working at heightspreferred.
