Senior Industrial Electrician (Mangere, Auckland)

The Opportunity :

We are currently seeking an experienced Senior Industrial Electrician to join the growing team at Rocklabs in Mangere, Auckland.

This role will electrically assembly standard machines, customised machines, mechanical line ups and automation projects within the mining industry. The perfect candidate will also provide supervision for contractors and mentor industrial electricians / electrical apprentices.

Key responsibilities include :

• Lead efficient manufacture of sub-assemblies or machines to achieve against set targets.
• Plan the workload for members of the assigned electrical team to achieve production plans.
• Continuously looking for ways to improve performance of the team by considering such things as : Labour utilisation Effective use of equipment Improvement initiatives which eliminate rework
• Assist in the installation, commissioning and servicing where assigned.
• Ensure workshop equipment and tools are maintained in a safe and efficient state for the tasks they are intended, and in accordance with legislative requirements.
• Assist with the delivery of components of these projects to cost and schedule targets, including tracking, analysing and reporting on progress weekly, as required.
• Provide Supervision for contractors, and mentoring to industrial electircians and electrical apprentices in both technical and behavioural skills, to ensure best practice is being followed

About you :

At least 5-7 years of proven experience in an industrial / workshop environment or similar role.

Proven experience with taking lead on projects as the Electrical leading hand.

Ability to problem solve and eliminate poor practices when identified.

Experience in Industrial control systems and machine manufacture and installation.

Computer literacy and good working knowledge of MRP systems is preferrable.

Ability to travel interstate and overseas.

Have the right to legally work in New Zealand.
